Which towns does the Seattle roadside line cover?

Seattle is home base, and the line also covers Shoreline, Burien, Tukwila, SeaTac, Renton, Mercer Island and Bellevue. Each has a map below. Call (206) 483-2704, say where you are, and the operator quotes the job.

The towns line up along a few routes. I-5 runs north through Shoreline and south through Tukwila. I-405 links Bellevue, Renton and Tukwila. SR-520 and I-90 cross Lake Washington to the Eastside, and I-90 reaches Mercer Island on the way. SR-99 runs under downtown through the tunnel, north on Aurora Avenue, and south as International Boulevard past SeaTac. SR-509 and SR-518 serve Burien and the airport. A call from Burien and a call from Bellevue are on opposite sides of the water, so the operator asks where you are before anything else. The services are the same in every town: tire repair, spare changes, jump starts, fuel delivery, winch-outs and light-duty towing, each quoted on the call.

Does the Seattle roadside line reach Mercer Island and Bellevue across the floating bridges?

Yes. Mercer Island sits on the I-90 route and Bellevue sits at the east end of SR-520, and both are on the list. Say which bridge you are on and which way you are heading.

I-90 crosses Lake Washington on two floating bridges, the Lacey V. Murrow eastbound and the Homer M. Hadley westbound, before it reaches the Mercer Island lid and Island Crest Way. SR-520 crosses on the Evergreen Point floating bridge between Montlake and the Eastside, then meets I-405 in Bellevue, with Bellevue Way running through town. The guide to bridge and tunnel breakdowns explains what to do if the car stops on a span. For a call from the Eastside, the operator needs the road, your direction and the nearest exit. The distance across the lake and the hour both change the quote, and you hear it before anyone is sent.

Does the line cover Tukwila, SeaTac, Burien and Renton on the south end?

Yes. All four are on the list, and each has its own mix of freeway, interchange and parking-lot calls. Give the road or the lot name when you call, and the operator takes it from there.

Tukwila has the I-5 and I-405 interchange, the Southcenter Parkway lots around the mall, and Interurban Avenue along the river. SeaTac has International Boulevard (SR-99), the airport approaches on SR-518 and the park-and-fly lots, where cars wait between trips. Burien sits along SR-509 and SR-518, with First Avenue South and Ambaum Boulevard running down toward the water. Renton has I-405 through town, the north end of SR-167, Rainier Avenue South and the lots at Renton Landing. A flat in a mall lot is an easy job. A dead car on an interchange ramp needs more care, and the operator plans the approach with you before a truck is sent.

Does the line cover Shoreline and the north end on I-5 and Aurora Avenue?

Yes. Shoreline is on the list, with calls from I-5 north of the city line and from Aurora Avenue North (SR-99). Say which cross street or exit you are near, and which way you are facing.

I-5 through Shoreline has the 145th and 175th Street exits, which make good landmarks when you call. Aurora Avenue North (SR-99) runs alongside the freeway, and its numbered cross streets pin a spot faster than a business name does. If the car is on the freeway, give the nearest exit and your direction. If it sits in a lot off Aurora, give the business and the side of the road. The Ship Canal Bridge on I-5 and the Aurora Bridge are south of Shoreline, inside Seattle, and the bridge guide on this site covers both. Whichever you pick, the quote follows your exact spot and the hour, not the town name, and you hear it before a truck is sent.

How does my spot inside Seattle change the quote?

Hills, bridges, garages and the hour change the quote, not the neighborhood name. A driveway in Ballard and a shoulder on I-5 are different jobs, and the operator prices each one on the call.

Seattle runs from downtown and South Lake Union to Capitol Hill and Queen Anne on their hills, Ballard and Fremont across the Ship Canal, the U District, West Seattle over the West Seattle Bridge and the Rainier Valley. A steep street calls for a different setup than a level lot for a spare change. A parking garage level may limit which truck fits. Crossing a bridge to reach you adds distance, and a call after dark or before dawn is quoted for the hour. Give the operator your street or exit, the vehicle and the problem, and one answer comes back. Nothing is sent until you agree.

What if I am just outside the towns on the Seattle list?

Call (206) 483-2704 and say where you are. Places along the same highways just past the list may still be reachable. The operator tells you plainly whether a truck can get there and what the quote is.

The towns listed are where the line works every day. Stretches of I-5, I-405 and SR-509 beyond them often fall inside what the line can reach, and the extra distance goes into the quote. The farther out you are, the more it helps to know your nearest exit and whether you have a signal. Share a map pin by text if you can. If the spot is too far, you hear that on the first call and can try another option without losing time. If the call drops, call back with the last sign or exit you saw, and move only when it is safe to do so.
